Living outside HCMC: having a tuxedo made here
Living in another province, you can still have a tuxedo made in HCMC: agree style and cloth on Zalo, bundle measuring into one trip, then follow fitting dates.

You can live in another province and still have a tuxedo made in Ho Chi Minh City, as long as the plan is deliberate. Most of the choosing of style and cloth, and the questions about price, can be handled on Zalo beforehand. You only need to come to the city for measuring and fittings, so the aim is to bundle those into few trips while the suit still fits properly. This guide follows the order in which things will happen.
Agree on style and cloth over Zalo before you travel
Before your first trip, message your consultant on Zalo 0888.111.118 so that much is already settled when you arrive. Useful things to send:
- The occasion and the date. Wedding, gala, year-end party, with the dress code from the invitation if there is one. If you are unsure of the dress code, read the dress code levels.
- Photos you like. Your own finds, or codes picked from the collection. If you lean towards a black shawl-lapel tuxedo, for instance, TUX-039 is a black tuxedo with a satin shawl lapel, one button and a slim cut.
- Your budget. The consultant advises by the three price lines: Essential from 4,800,000 to 10,000,000 VND, Signature from 10,000,000 to 20,000,000 VND, and Heritage above 20,000,000 VND. The exact figure depends on cloth and details such as satin or velvet lapels, a waistcoat, or a pleated shirt.
- Height, weight and a rough idea of your build. This does not replace measuring, but helps the consultant picture the cut in advance.
Over Zalo you can narrow down cloth, colour and lapel style, and learn which price line your idea sits in. The true feel of cloth under real lighting can only be judged in person, so do not lock in every decision before you have handled the swatches.
Plan the measuring visit
The measuring trip is the decisive one, so prepare to make the most of it. Book ahead so a consultant is set aside for you. Mon Amie has five showrooms in HCMC, open 8:30 to 21:30 every day, so pick one that suits your route, say near the coach station or where you are staying. Details of each branch are on the showroom page.
On this trip you can usually do a lot:
- Take the full set of measurements while the tailor observes your posture.
- Choose real cloth, colour, lapel style, buttons and details.
- Fix the complete quote.
- Ask in advance how many fittings are likely, and the expected schedule.
Bring a thin shirt that fits, the shoes you will wear, and the invitation. The full list is in preparing for your tuxedo measuring session. For someone travelling in, careful preparation saves the most effort, because one forgotten item might have to wait until the next trip.
Fitting dates come from your consultant
The number of fittings and the gap between them depend on the garment, the complexity of the style and the cloth, so your consultant gives the specifics after measuring; we do not promise one general figure. What you can do is state two things from the start:
- The date you need the suit.
- The days you can travel to HCMC, and where you can stay.
From there the consultant fits the appointments into the days you can manage, for instance combining a frame fitting and a finishing fitting in a way that suits your travel. If you live far away and can only come a few times, say so plainly so the consultant can plan accordingly. How to read each fitting is in tuxedo fittings: what each one checks.
Do not leave the final fitting right next to the event. For someone coming from the provinces, leave a buffer after the last fitting, so that if the tailor needs further adjustments you are not travelling and watching the clock at the same time.
Collecting the suit and alterations afterwards
Once the suit is finished you collect it at the showroom and try it one last time. Wear the whole outfit with the shirt, shoes and accessories, sit, raise your arms, walk, and only then leave. If something needs adjusting, say so straight away: small matters can be handled while you are still there, and larger ones booked with a clear date.
After you take it home, Mon Amie still makes alterations. If your weight changes or something feels wrong, message on Zalo first so your consultant can say how to deal with it, rather than travelling blind. For weight changes in particular, see adjusting a tuxedo when your weight changes.
Small tips for out-of-town clients
- Tell the consultant at the outset that you are travelling in, so the work is planned compactly.
- The clearer your choices over Zalo, the quicker the showroom visit.
- Bring the real accessories: shoes, socks, shirt, even your watch.
- Order earlier than someone living in the city, since your travel is less flexible.
Book your visit for your trip to the city
Read about the bespoke tuxedo service and then book a showroom time to match your trip. Message Zalo 0888.111.118 with the date you plan to come, and your consultant will hold the slot and tell you what to bring.
