FAQ
Questions we hear most
How is a tuxedo different from a suit?
A tuxedo is evening wear: satin or grosgrain-faced lapels, cloth-covered buttons, jetted pockets without flaps, trousers with a braid down each side, and usually a bow tie instead of a necktie. A suit is day and business wear, with lapels in the same cloth as the body and plain trousers.
How much does a bespoke tuxedo cost at Mon Amie?
Our made-to-measure tuxedos come in three cloth tiers: Essential VND 4.8 – 10M, Signature VND 10 – 20M and Heritage above VND 20M. Details such as velvet facings, a waistcoat or a pleated dress shirt change the price; we quote precisely after your consultation.
How long does it take? Can you work to a tight deadline?
It depends on the model, the cloth and the number of fittings; we plan backwards from the date you need it and confirm the delivery date when we measure you. If you are short on time, call 0888.111.118 and we will check cloth in stock and arrange the schedule.
Do I have to come to a showroom to be measured?
You can visit any of our five showrooms in Ho Chi Minh City. If that is not convenient, Mon Amie's at-home tailoring service (maydotainha.vn) sends a tailor to your home or office.
I only need it once — can I rent a tuxedo?
Yes. Mon Amie's rental service is at thuevest.vn: try it on in a showroom, have it altered to fit, with cleaning included. Rental prices depend on the model and are quoted at your fitting.
Can you dress the whole groomsmen party?
Yes. We tailor for the groom and his groomsmen around one concept — the same cloth, lapel, bow tie and pocket square — with each man cut to his own measurements.
Black or midnight blue?
Both are correct for black tie. Black is the classic, safe choice; under evening light midnight blue reads deeper and richer, ideal if you want quiet distinction. See both cloths under showroom lighting before you decide.
Do you make the shirt and accessories too?
Yes. We make tuxedo shirts (pleated or piqué bib, French cuffs) and advise on the bow tie, cummerbund or waistcoat, cufflinks and pocket square to complete the look.
What if it isn't quite right when I collect it?
We continue to alter after you collect until the fit is right. Your measurements are kept on file, so your next order does not start from scratch.
Do you make tuxedos for women?
Mon Amie tailors women's suits to measure. For a tuxedo style (satin lapels, braided trousers), bring reference images to a showroom and our stylists will advise on cut and cloth.
