This suit is a jet black, a smooth, matte cloth that gives off only a slight sheen as you turn under the lights. The highlight is the pair of peak lapels faced in glossy black satin, cut sharply upward toward the shoulder, two different blacks reflecting each other. It has one button, which draws in the waist when fastened, a moderately structured shoulder and no heavy padding. Two flap hip pockets lie flat against the body, and the sleeves end at just the right point to show a little white cuff. Straight trousers with a sharp centre crease run down to the toe of the shoe.

This is the suit you wear on your own wedding day, at an engagement ceremony, or when you step on stage to receive good wishes. A white shirt with a stand collar is the safest foundation, and a small-patterned burgundy tie, as in the photo, warms up the whole look and suits wedding photographs and party lighting. Polished black leather shoes and a slim black belt in the same tone are enough.
