Classic Black Three-Piece Tuxedo

A true three-piece: jacket, waistcoat and trousers cut from the same black cloth. The jacket has satin-trimmed peak lapels, one button and a slanted satin-trimmed chest pocket. Beneath it, the pointed waistcoat rises to form a second V just under the lapel line, a detail that gives the upper body more layers and gravity than a two-piece. With a black bow tie, white shirt, cuffs showing exactly a centimetre and straight trousers falling over black leather shoes.

A three-piece suit is the choice of the groom who wants to keep a formal bearing throughout a long day. During the ceremony you wear the full suit; at the reception, when you take off the jacket, the waistcoat and shirt still look neat and never as untidy as a shirt alone would. One suit, two looks.

Mon Amie makes all three pieces from the same length of cloth so that colour and sheen are perfectly consistent. The waistcoat is the piece most sensitive to measurements: too tight and it presses on the chest, too loose and it creases across the waist. It is therefore set separately to your real chest and waist measurements. You come to the showroom to be measured and fitted, and we adjust until all three pieces work together.
